A Little Lesson Learned

Everyone has learned a lesson in life by now, I'm sure. Especially in college.. lol Being in college and figure out what you want to do with your life can be very challenging. So today you'll read a little bit about my experience in college and a little lesson that I personally have learned.
From the very beginning of college I was not quite sure what I wanted to do with my life. I had some ideas but nothing really stood out to me. Quite a few people in my family are in the medical field so I have always loved that area of work but never really specified what I wanted to do. At first I tried nursing and that quickly fell through, HA! I had shadowed my sister as a labor and delivery nurse and I had a feeling that I was not called for nursing. Yes I was upset and defeated because I had no clue what I wanted to do. Everyone else knew what they were going to school for but me and of course the negative nancy decided to come out of me. I was crushed honestly but I had to pull everything together and keep my head high and figure something else out to do! So I started looking into other things. Quick little background story- back in high school, my junior year I had broken my elbow in several different places. I was out of the basketball season and that crushed me. My desire to play basketball was always strong ever since I was little. I had to go through Physical Therapy after my surgery and I fell in love. I always enjoyed going. So back to the decision making of my lifelong career. After the nursing situation fell through, I looked into Physical Therapy. I knew the requirements and was not a fan of them.. (I wasn't even a fan of school) therefore I looked into Physical Therapy Assistant and had a very good feeling about it. I shadowed my brother, (he's a PT) and that same day I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I absolutely fell in love with the concept. I have always loved kids and helping little kids in any way that I possibly can. So I would say it has been a little difficult figuring out what I wanted to do with my career and the rest of my life. School has not been the easiest and fun thing for me but hey I gotta push through because it will be worth it in the end. At first I honestly did not even want to go to school but that was not necessarily an option so I went for it. I have met some of the greatest friends through school and even one of my jobs. Today I am so glad I have been going to school and I couldn't be more thankful for being able to get an education. Yes it has been hard as can be but God has a plan for my life and he knows exactly what he is doing. Life is hard sometimes but by the grace of God, we will get through it with him by our side. This little lesson I have learned is to not give up, let God take control and relax. It is very easy to be negative and think the worst will happen but you and I can rise above that and be positive. We are all lucky to see each and every day. Dont let your past define you, make the next day better than yesterday. I challenge all of you reading this right now to stay positive, be thankful, and strive to be better than before. Even if you aren't going through something right now then challenge yourself to take it another step higher. If you are going through something similar to what I have been through, I also challenge you to keep your head high and not give up. One day you will look back and appreciate what you learned in the past because it will make you a better person for it. Dont lose hope, it will all work out for the best :)
till next time, toe
xoxo
